About Breccia Porcelain
Breccia is an Italian porcelain built on an ivory-white background with wide charcoal and brown bands running diagonally across it, broken up by finer fractured veining inside the pale areas. It is the boldest pattern in our porcelain range — a breccia look, where the stone appears to be made of fragments held together.
A slab like this wants space. On one large island, a waterfall end or a fireplace wall it looks like a piece of quarried stone; spread over an entire kitchen it can overwhelm. Pair it with plain cabinetry and simple hardware and let the slab do all of the work.

What is porcelain?
Porcelain slabs are fired at extremely high temperature, producing a surface that is highly resistant to heat, scratching, staining and UV fading. Large-format sizes mean fewer seams on islands and waterfall edges.
Breccia Porcelain questions we get asked
How do I use a pattern this bold without overdoing it?
Put it on one surface. An island, a waterfall end or a fireplace face gives you the impact, while a quiet white or a solid color on the rest of the counters keeps the room balanced.
Can you match the veining around a waterfall edge?
Yes — that is exactly the detail worth spending fabrication time on. We miter the corner and match the vein so the pattern appears to run over the edge and down the side in one continuous piece.
Does the veining on Breccia Porcelain run through the slab?
The pattern is printed on the surface and fired in, so it is on the face rather than all the way through the body. That is why a mitered edge is standard: it carries the face pattern around the corner. On a well matched miter you do not see a difference.
What edges can you do on Breccia Porcelain?
Because the slab is thin, the standard approach is a mitered edge that folds the face down to whatever thickness you want — commonly 1 1/2in or 2in — so the counter looks solid. Simple eased and small radius edges are also available. We will show you finished samples in the showroom.
Can I put a hot pan on Breccia Porcelain?
Yes. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperature, so a hot pan will not scorch or discolor it the way it can quartz. We still suggest a trivet as a habit, mostly to protect the pan and the seam silicone.
