About Mirable
Mirable is an Italian porcelain in a warm white, with broad grey-taupe veins running on a diagonal and softening into the background rather than ending in a hard line. The overall effect is generous and relaxed — large shapes rather than fine detail.
Because the veins are wide, Mirable rewards being used on a big surface: an island, a long run of counter, or a full-height backsplash where a whole sweep of pattern is visible. The warm tone in the veining works with white oak, cream and greige cabinetry and with brass or bronze hardware.

What is porcelain?
Porcelain slabs are fired at extremely high temperature, producing a surface that is highly resistant to heat, scratching, staining and UV fading. Large-format sizes mean fewer seams on islands and waterfall edges.
Mirable questions we get asked
Will the pattern look repetitive over a large kitchen?
Less than with most printed slabs, because the Italian print carries more variation across the sheet. We also lay the pieces out so similar sections do not land side by side.
Can Mirable go on the counter and the backsplash?
Yes, and it is one of the best uses of a large-format porcelain. Running the same slab up the wall gives you a continuous vein from the counter into the backsplash, which is a look you cannot get with a tile.
Is porcelain strong enough at 12mm?
Yes, when it is fabricated and installed properly. Porcelain slabs are thin by design and are supported by the cabinet run or a substrate; the visible edge is usually mitered so it reads as a thicker top. Fabrication matters more with porcelain than with any other material, which is why we cut it in our own shop.
Can I put a hot pan on Mirable?
Yes. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperature, so a hot pan will not scorch or discolor it the way it can quartz. We still suggest a trivet as a habit, mostly to protect the pan and the seam silicone.
Can Mirable be used outdoors?
Yes, and it is one of the best reasons to choose porcelain. The color is UV stable, so it will not fade in sun, and it is frost resistant, which makes it a strong pick for an outdoor kitchen, a grill surround or a patio bar here in Charlotte.
