About Black Pearl
Black Pearl is a charcoal-to-black granite from India shot through with silver, pewter and occasional bronze mica that catches the light and gives the surface a subtle shimmer. Polished, it looks almost metallic under pendant lighting; honed or leathered, it flattens into a soft, modern matte.
Compared with Ubatuba it is slightly cooler in tone and more reflective, so it suits contemporary kitchens, waterfall islands and bar tops where you want the stone to catch attention. It is a hard, dense granite that stands up to daily cooking and is a common pick for outdoor kitchens because the color holds up in sun.

What is granite?
Granite is one of the most popular materials due to its versatility, durability, and ease of maintenance. It can also be more affordable than other options. Granite comes in a striking array of colors and is an ideal choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops, outdoor projects, business applications, and other heavily used surfaces.
Black Pearl questions we get asked
What is the difference between Black Pearl and Ubatuba granite?
Both are dark speckled granites. Black Pearl is cooler and more reflective thanks to silver mica, while Ubatuba leans green-black with gold flecking. Black Pearl reads more contemporary, Ubatuba more traditional.
Does Black Pearl granite show fingerprints?
Polished Black Pearl shows water spots and fingerprints more than a honed or leathered finish. If your kitchen sees heavy use and you dislike wiping, ask us about the leathered finish.
Is Black Pearl granite good for an outdoor kitchen?
Yes. It is dense, freeze-thaw stable and holds its color in direct sun, which makes it a reliable choice for Charlotte patios and grill surrounds. Seal it annually as you would indoors.
Can Black Pearl be used for a waterfall island?
Yes, and it is a popular choice for one. Because the speckle is even, the vein match at the mitered edge is far more forgiving than it would be on a heavily veined marble or quartzite.
