Sky Fall is a blue-grey quartzite with a smoky, cloudy field and a dramatic network of rust, bronze and black veins that crisscross the slab. It is bold, earthy and unlike anything a factory can make.
A stone like this is best used as the centerpiece: an island, a bar, a fireplace wall or a statement vanity. Pair it with wood, cream or deep blue cabinetry and keep the backsplash plain so the slab can lead.

Quartzite is a natural stone that can mimic the look of marble while behaving more like granite. Its veining and bold patterns add elegance, and it is harder and more etch-resistant than marble.
Both, depending on the slab and the light. The base is a cool blue-grey, and the rust and bronze veining warms it up. Look at it in daylight at the warehouse before deciding.
For many kitchens, yes. A common approach is Sky Fall on the island with a quieter surface on the perimeter.
Yes, we recommend it. Quartzite is dense, but it is still a natural stone, so we seal it at install. A quick check once a year tells you when to reseal: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time.
Quartzite handles heat much better than engineered quartz, since there is no resin to scorch. We still recommend a trivet, because a very hot pan on a cold stone can stress it, and it protects the sealer.
Natural stone arrives in different sizes with every block, so we do not publish a figure. Call (704) 394-1221 and we will tell you what is on the rack today and whether it covers your island in one piece.
