About Statuario Nuvo
Statuario Nuvo is a bright, clean white porcelain with soft grey veining that runs on a diagonal and feathers out rather than cutting hard lines. Up close you can see the layered wash of the veining; from across the room it reads as an almost solid white surface with a little movement in it.
This is the choice for a kitchen that wants the Statuario marble look with none of the marble worry — no etching from lemon or vinegar, no sealing, and no dark ring where someone left a wine glass. It works especially well as a large expanse: a full island top, a countertop with a matching full-height backsplash, or a shower wall.

What is porcelain?
Porcelain slabs are fired at extremely high temperature, producing a surface that is highly resistant to heat, scratching, staining and UV fading. Large-format sizes mean fewer seams on islands and waterfall edges.
Statuario Nuvo questions we get asked
How is Statuario Nuvo different from real Statuario marble?
It looks very similar and behaves completely differently. Real Statuario is a soft, porous marble that etches with anything acidic and needs sealing. This porcelain is non-porous, does not etch and needs no sealer, which is why so many kitchens choose it over the marble.
Will a white porcelain counter stain around the sink?
No. The surface is non-porous, so coffee, tea, wine and oil sit on top and wipe away. The only thing to keep after is limescale from standing water, and that comes off with a mild soap.
Can I put a hot pan on Statuario Nuvo?
Yes. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperature, so a hot pan will not scorch or discolor it the way it can quartz. We still suggest a trivet as a habit, mostly to protect the pan and the seam silicone.
Does Statuario Nuvo need to be sealed?
No. There is nothing to seal on a porcelain slab, and no sealer, penetrant or topical treatment should be used on it. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap is the whole routine.
Does Statuario Nuvo scratch or stain?
It is highly resistant to both. Porcelain is non-porous, so wine, coffee, oil and citrus sit on the surface rather than soaking in, and the fired body is harder than most natural stone. Still cut on a board — that is for your knives, not the counter.
