Allure is a pale grey quartzite with a glassy, crystalline body and a web of fine taupe and olive veins running through it. Up close the stone looks almost frosted; from across the room it reads as a soft, cool grey with gentle movement.
It is a strong choice when you want the look of natural stone without a single bold vein stealing the room. The cool grey pairs easily with white, navy and grey-green cabinetry, and the crystalline texture catches light nicely on an island.

Quartzite is a natural stone that can mimic the look of marble while behaving more like granite. Its veining and bold patterns add elegance, and it is harder and more etch-resistant than marble.
No. This page is the natural quartzite. Universal Stone also carries an engineered quartz named Allure, which is a different product with a manufactured, consistent pattern and no sealing required. Ask us to show you both if you are deciding between natural and engineered.
Yes, and that is the character of the stone: the glassy areas have depth and catch light. It is worth walking the actual slab, since the amount of crystal varies from slab to slab.
Yes, we recommend it. Quartzite is dense, but it is still a natural stone, so we seal it at install. A quick check once a year tells you when to reseal: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time.
True quartzite resists etching far better than marble, which is the main reason people choose it. Some stones sold as quartzite contain softer minerals, though, so we are happy to test a sample from your actual slab before you commit. Wipe up acids promptly either way.
Natural stone arrives in different sizes with every block, so we do not publish a figure. Call (704) 394-1221 and we will tell you what is on the rack today and whether it covers your island in one piece.
