Belvedere is a black quartzite shot through with swirling bands of gold, cream and white. It is one of the most dramatic stones in our yard: the dark field makes every vein stand out, and no two slabs move the same way.
A stone this bold works best where it can be the statement: a large island, a bar top, a fireplace surround or a powder room vanity. Keep the cabinetry and backsplash simple and let the slab lead. Warm brass or bronze hardware picks up the gold in the veins.

Quartzite is a natural stone that can mimic the look of marble while behaving more like granite. Its veining and bold patterns add elegance, and it is harder and more etch-resistant than marble.
A polished black surface shows smudges and water spots more than a light stone, although the gold and cream veining breaks it up. A microfiber cloth keeps it looking clean, and a leathered or honed finish hides marks better if one is available.
We lay out the cut on the actual slab with you, so the strongest swirl lands where people see it most, usually the island face or a waterfall end, and we match veins across any seam.
Yes, we recommend it. Quartzite is dense, but it is still a natural stone, so we seal it at install. A quick check once a year tells you when to reseal: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time.
Quartzite handles heat much better than engineered quartz, since there is no resin to scorch. We still recommend a trivet, because a very hot pan on a cold stone can stress it, and it protects the sealer.
Natural stone arrives in different sizes with every block, so we do not publish a figure. Call (704) 394-1221 and we will tell you what is on the rack today and whether it covers your island in one piece.
