Calacatta Gold marble has a bright white background with bold grey veins and warm gold tones running through them. It is one of the most recognized marbles in design.
It is best on islands, vanities, slab backsplashes and fireplace surrounds where the veining can be seen. We lay out the cut on your actual slab so the best veins land where people look.

This page is natural Calacatta Gold marble. We also carry a Calacatta Gold quartz, which has a similar look, never needs sealing and does not etch. Ask us to show you both.
Usually, yes. We plan seam placement on the slab so the veining flows, and we can book-match slabs on larger pieces.
Marble is softer than granite and reacts to acids, so lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato and some cleaners can leave dull etch marks if left sitting. Wipe spills promptly, use coasters and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Many owners accept a soft patina over time as part of marble's character.
Yes. We seal at install and suggest checking once a year: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time to reseal. Sealing helps with stains but does not prevent etching.
You can, as long as you are comfortable with some patina. Marble is a classic baking surface and looks beautiful on an island, but it will show etching from acids over time. If you want the look with less upkeep, ask us to show you a quartzite or a marble-look quartz alongside it.
