About Calacatta Pisa
Calacatta Pisa is a printed quartz with bold gold and amber veins branching across a white field, and the print gives the veining a depth and irregularity that cast patterns rarely achieve. It looks like a top-shelf marble slab.
Two things to know: printed patterns sit in the surface layer, so a mitered edge is how we carry the veining down an island side, and a slab with veins this strong should be chosen in person so its best sweep lands where you want it.

What is quartz?
Quartz slabs are engineered from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. The result is a non-porous surface with consistent color and pattern that never needs sealing, making it a practical choice for kitchens and baths.

Why is a printed quartz better for bold veining?
Printing can reproduce the irregular, layered look of natural marble far more convincingly than a cast pattern, which tends to repeat. The trade-off is the edge detail, which a mitered edge solves.
Is Pisa suitable for a whole kitchen?
In a large kitchen with quiet cabinetry it can carry the room. More often it is the island or the feature wall, with a calmer white elsewhere.

Does Calacatta Pisa need to be sealed?
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so there is nothing to seal. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap if needed is the whole routine; skip abrasive pads, bleach and any sealer or topical treatment.
Can I put a hot pan on Calacatta Pisa?
No. The resin binder in every engineered quartz can scorch or discolor, so use a trivet. If hot pans routinely land on your counter, granite or porcelain is the safer surface.
