About Medusa

Medusa is a white marble with flowing waves of blue-grey, grey and taupe that move across the slab in layers. The look is soft and artistic.

It is a statement material for vanities, feature walls, islands and fireplace surrounds. It works well with white, navy, grey and light wood cabinetry.

What is marble?

Marble is known for its classic and timeless beauty. This natural stone has soft, distinct veining and unique character, and it is a favorite for baths, vanities, fireplace surrounds and baking areas.

Medusa questions we get asked

Can Medusa be book-matched?

Yes. The flowing layers look striking when book-matched on a feature wall or waterfall end.

Is Medusa marble blue?

It has blue-grey waves over a white field, so it reads cool and soft rather than strongly blue.

Will Medusa etch or stain?

Marble is softer than granite and reacts to acids, so lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato and some cleaners can leave dull etch marks if left sitting. Wipe spills promptly, use coasters and a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Many owners accept a soft patina over time as part of marble's character.

Does Medusa need to be sealed?

Yes. We seal at install and suggest checking once a year: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time to reseal. Sealing helps with stains but does not prevent etching.

Polished or honed: which finish is better for Medusa?

Polished shows off the color and veining but makes etch marks easier to see. Honed is matte, hides etching and scratches better and feels softer to the touch, though it can show oil marks until wiped. It depends on how you use the space.
