About Calacatta Gold Quartz
Calacatta Gold quartz gives you the look people want from Calacatta marble, a bright white field with bold warm gold and taupe veining, in a surface that does not etch, does not need sealing and stays exactly as consistent as the slab you selected.
For a busy kitchen with children, this is usually the right trade. The veining is printed and cast through the slab rather than natural, so pattern repeats can occur, and our fabricators lay slabs out to keep repeats out of sightlines and to carry veins across seams and mitered edges.

What is quartz?
Quartz slabs are engineered from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. The result is a non-porous surface with consistent color and pattern that never needs sealing, making it a practical choice for kitchens and baths.

Is Calacatta Gold quartz better than Calacatta marble?
For durability, yes. Quartz is non-porous, will not etch from citrus or wine and never needs sealing. Marble has depth and natural variation that quartz cannot fully copy, so the choice comes down to whether you value performance or authenticity.
Can you put a hot pan on Calacatta Gold quartz?
No. The resin binder in any engineered quartz can scorch or discolor, so always use a trivet. If you routinely set hot pans down directly, a natural granite or porcelain is the safer surface.
Does the veining repeat?
It can, because the pattern is manufactured. We plan the layout so repeats do not land next to each other in a visible run, and we match veining across seams and waterfall edges wherever the slab allows.
Does Calacatta Gold quartz need to be sealed?
No. It is non-porous, so soap and water is genuinely all the routine care it needs. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach-based cleaners, which dull the polish over time.
