About Calacatta Raphael
Calacatta Raphael is a bright, cool white quartz with thin grey veins that occasionally thicken into a stronger run. It is the cool-toned answer to the gold Calacattas, and the safer pick in a room full of white and grey.
Cool whites hold their color against modern cabinetry and stainless appliances without the yellow cast a warm slab can pick up under LED lighting. This one is popular in new-build kitchens and in baths where the tile is already grey.

What is quartz?
Quartz slabs are engineered from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. The result is a non-porous surface with consistent color and pattern that never needs sealing, making it a practical choice for kitchens and baths.

Is Raphael cool enough to go with grey cabinetry?
Yes. Its veining is grey rather than gold, so it sits comfortably with grey and navy cabinetry and with chrome or polished-nickel fixtures, where a warm Calacatta would look out of place.
How does it compare with Calacatta Venatino?
They are close cousins. Raphael's veins are slightly stronger and more defined; Venatino is softer and more diffuse. Seeing them side by side at the warehouse is the fastest way to choose.

Does Calacatta Raphael need to be sealed?
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so there is nothing to seal. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap if needed is the whole routine; skip abrasive pads, bleach and any sealer or topical treatment.
Does the pattern repeat on Calacatta Raphael?
It can, because the pattern is manufactured rather than quarried. We lay slabs out so repeats do not land side by side in a visible run, and we match movement across seams and mitered edges wherever the slab allows.
