About Nero Marquina
Nero Marquina is a true black porcelain crossed by thin, bright white veins that fork and taper across the face. The contrast is about as high as it gets, and the black background is genuinely black rather than charcoal.
It is a classic used deliberately: a powder-room vanity, a bar top, an island, a fireplace face, or a full-height feature wall where the veining can run uninterrupted. Unlike the natural Nero Marquina marble it is named after, this porcelain will not etch from an acidic spill and needs no sealing.

What is porcelain?
Porcelain slabs are fired at extremely high temperature, producing a surface that is highly resistant to heat, scratching, staining and UV fading. Large-format sizes mean fewer seams on islands and waterfall edges.
Nero Marquina questions we get asked
How does this compare to natural Nero Marquina marble?
The look is very close; the behaviour is not. The natural marble is porous and etches easily, especially in a bathroom with acidic products. This porcelain is non-porous, does not etch and needs no sealer.
Does a black counter show every mark?
A polished black shows water spots and fingerprints more than a light color does. The white veining breaks the surface up, and a soft cloth deals with the rest. If it would bother you daily, ask us about a matte finish option.
Can I put a hot pan on Nero Marquina?
Yes. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperature, so a hot pan will not scorch or discolor it the way it can quartz. We still suggest a trivet as a habit, mostly to protect the pan and the seam silicone.
Does Nero Marquina need to be sealed?
No. There is nothing to seal on a porcelain slab, and no sealer, penetrant or topical treatment should be used on it. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap is the whole routine.
What is the best way to clean Nero Marquina?
Warm water and a soft cloth, with a mild soap for anything greasy. Avoid abrasive powders and scouring pads on a polished finish. No sealing, no special stone cleaner needed.
