Olympia is a white quartzite with bold, flowing charcoal veins that carry a hint of deep green. It has the high-contrast drama people love in a Calacatta marble, in a harder natural stone.
The veining is strong enough to anchor a kitchen on its own, so Olympia looks best with simple cabinetry and a quiet backsplash. It is a popular pick for islands, waterfall ends and full-slab backsplashes behind a range.

Quartzite is a natural stone that can mimic the look of marble while behaving more like granite. Its veining and bold patterns add elegance, and it is harder and more etch-resistant than marble.
Yes. It gives you a similar white field with bold dark veining, and quartzite is harder and much less prone to etching than marble. It still needs sealing.
Yes. We miter the corner and match the vein so it appears to run over the edge and down the side in one piece. That layout is planned on the actual slab before we cut.
Yes, we recommend it. Quartzite is dense, but it is still a natural stone, so we seal it at install. A quick check once a year tells you when to reseal: if a few drops of water darken the stone within a few minutes, it is time.
True quartzite resists etching far better than marble, which is the main reason people choose it. Some stones sold as quartzite contain softer minerals, though, so we are happy to test a sample from your actual slab before you commit. Wipe up acids promptly either way.
Natural stone arrives in different sizes with every block, so we do not publish a figure. Call (704) 394-1221 and we will tell you what is on the rack today and whether it covers your island in one piece.
