About Mykonos Gold

Mykonos Gold is a warm off-white quartz traced with fine, wispy golden-taupe veins that wander evenly across the whole slab. The veining is thin and low-contrast, so from across the room it reads as a soft, warm neutral, and up close it has the delicate detail of a honed marble.

It is the warmer sister to our Mykonos. Where Mykonos leans soft white with grey wisps, Mykonos Gold brings a hint of warmth that sits naturally with cream or white cabinetry, oak and walnut, and brass or gold hardware. Because the pattern is all-over rather than directional, layout is simple and seams are easy to place discreetly.

What is quartz?

Quartz slabs are engineered from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. The result is a non-porous surface with consistent color and pattern that never needs sealing, making it a practical choice for kitchens and baths.

Mykonos Gold questions we get asked

How is Mykonos Gold different from Mykonos?

Both are calm, light quartz slabs with fine veining. Mykonos is a soft white with faint grey wisps; Mykonos Gold is warmer, with golden-taupe veins. Put the two side by side in the warehouse and the difference in tone is obvious within a minute.

What cabinets and hardware go with Mykonos Gold?

It is at its best with warm or neutral palettes: white, cream and greige cabinets, natural oak or walnut, and brass, gold or champagne hardware. Against stark cool greys the warmth can feel out of step.

What size are Mykonos Gold slabs?

Mykonos Gold slabs are 129in by 65in at 3cm thick, the standard thickness for kitchen counters with no build-up needed at the edge. Call (704) 394-1221 to confirm current stock.

Does Mykonos Gold need to be sealed?

No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so there is nothing to seal. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap if needed is the whole routine; skip abrasive pads, bleach and any sealer or topical treatment.

Can I put a hot pan on Mykonos Gold?

No. The resin binder in every engineered quartz can scorch or discolor, so use a trivet. If hot pans routinely land on your counter, granite or porcelain is the safer surface.
