About Calacatta Iris
Calacatta Iris covers a creamy white field with many fine gold and taupe veins running in the same direction, closer to a quartzite look than a bold Calacatta. The effect is warm, textured and surprisingly quiet for how much veining is present.
Directional pattern makes layout matter. Running every piece the same way is what separates a clean install from a patchwork, and on a 138in slab we usually have enough material to do it without compromise.

What is quartz?
Quartz slabs are engineered from crushed natural quartz bound with resin and pigment. The result is a non-porous surface with consistent color and pattern that never needs sealing, making it a practical choice for kitchens and baths.
Calacatta Iris questions we get asked
Does Iris read gold or beige?
Warm and golden-beige rather than yellow. It is a natural fit with cream cabinetry, brass hardware and wood tones, and it warms up a room the way a cool white will not.
Is the fine veining hard to match at seams?
Less hard than a bold vein, but direction is critical. We keep the run consistent across pieces, which is a fabrication decision we make with you before cutting.
How does it compare with Taj Mahal quartz?
Both are warm and striated. Taj Mahal has a softer, cloudier movement; Iris has crisper, more defined fine veins. They are worth seeing side by side, and we stock both.
Does Calacatta Iris need to be sealed?
No. Engineered quartz is non-porous, so there is nothing to seal. Warm water, a soft cloth and a mild soap if needed is the whole routine; skip abrasive pads, bleach and any sealer or topical treatment.
Can I put a hot pan on Calacatta Iris?
No. The resin binder in every engineered quartz can scorch or discolor, so use a trivet. If hot pans routinely land on your counter, granite or porcelain is the safer surface.
